Meet Our Team

Dr. Josh Raines PT, DPT

Josh Raines is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Clemson University. He lived in Lexington, SC until the age of 9 but considers himself an Aiken native.  After graduating from MUSC, he knew Aiken would be an excellent opportunity to start his career and raise a family.

His first 2 years out of school he worked in an outpatient clinic in Augusta, GA.  He wanted to be closer to home after his son was born so he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with Clemson Sports Medicine, formally known as Sports Plus, in Aiken, SC as their Director.  He grew the practice from 1 Physical Therapist in 1 location to 14 Physical Therapists with 4 locations around the CSRA.  He left in the summer of 2020 and took a job as the Inpatient Rehabilitation Manager at Doctors Hospital. Josh soon realized his calling was in outpatient orthopedics which led him to open his own clinic, Raines Physical Therapy + Performance. Josh always had aspirations of owning his own clinic.

He values the patient-therapist relationship.  He has worked with patients dealing with all types of diagnoses.  From teachers with plantar fasciitis to construction workers with low back pain.  He is also actively involved with providing rehab to Olympic athletes and professional sports stars in the NFL, MLB, and PGA.   Josh works and has worked with a multitude of surgical and nonsurgical physicians to get his patients better and improve their quality of life.

While he mainly focuses on general outpatient orthopedic problems, he also has education and experience with patients with Parkinson’s, MS, Spinal Cord injury, and strokes. He is certified with Titleist Performance Institute, TPI (Medical Level 2), Dry Needling as well as being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. When Josh isn’t working, he enjoys working in his yard, hunting, traveling, helping coach his kids’ sports leagues, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Fabian Azofeifa PT, DPT

Fabian Azofeifa received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Brenau University and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Augusta University.  He was born in Costa Rica but calls North Augusta, S.C home.  He is a physical therapist and CrossFit L1 trainer.  His athletic background includes playing soccer at the collegiate level and olympic weightlifting, competing at University Nationals. Fabian’s treatment style is catered to the individual’s needs through a combination of skilled hands-on techniques and a fitness forward mindset with tailored progressive exercises. Outside of the clinic, Fabian enjoys pushing his performance at Doxa Barbell, attending his church, trying out local coffee shops, and spending time with his wife, Susannah.

Dr Andrew Lietzow PT, DPT

Andrew graduated from Nova Southeastern with his Doctor of Physical Therapy, and prior to that graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Accounting. Andrew grew a passion for geriatric orthopedics and started practicing in Aiken right after graduating from physical therapy school. Andrew is a very evidenced based clinician and practices the most efficacious approaches while treating, and always individualizes patients’ plans of care based on their needs. In addition, Andrew has a passion for treating low back problems and has started the process of getting certified with the McKinzie Institute.

Andrew’s athletic background is in long-distance cycling and triathlons on the regional circuit. Unfortunately, due to six knee operations, Andrew is no longer able to partake in cycling or triathlons. With his last surgery, a quad tendon rupture, Andrew received rehab from Josh and it was then that he knew he wanted to be a physical therapist.

Andrew now enjoys fishing and can be found on the water most weekends chasing striped bass on Lake Murray. Through his passion for fishing, Andrew started making his own lures and baits to use with aspirations of one day being able to sell them. Andrew was born and raised in Aiken, SC and this has always been home for him.  Andrew enjoys days on the water, attending church, spending time with his family, and watching college football.

Outside of the clinic, Kelly lives with her husband in North Augusta with their two cats. She enjoys staying active with a variety of exercise including weightlifting, running, and cross training.

Bethany Raines

Bethany Raines received her bachelors degree in Marketing from Clemson University.  She is a native of Aiken, SC.   She is married to Josh Raines and they have 2 children, Colton and Harper.  Bethany and Josh knew Aiken would be the perfect place to raise a family so they moved back after Josh graduated from MUSC in 2010.  Bethany was thrilled to take a job at SRS where she worked until their second child was born.  She decided to resign from the site and stay home with their 2 small children.

She believes the days are long, but the years fly by.  She realizes how fortunate she was to be able to cherish their early years at home.  After watching Josh excel as a physical therapist, Bethany knew that something bigger was in store for their future.  After much prayer, research, and hard work they began to “build” Raines Physical Therapy + Performance.

Bethany was excited to be able to use her business knowledge again after so many years at home.  Bethany is the Practice Manager at Raines Physical Therapy + Performance.

When she isn’t taking care of their family business, Bethany likes to spend time with their kids.  She enjoys taking them to their sporting commitments. Colton likes to play golf, tennis, and baseball. Harper plays on the Aiken Futbol club soccer team and travels around South Carolina and Georgia to play.  Bethany also enjoys traveling, attending Clemson games, and shopping.

Bethany is grateful for the opportunity to serve her community.  If you ask her what she values most in their practice, it’s seeing the patients come in, put in the work, and achieve their health and wellness milestones. She also values the Raines Physical Therapy + Performance team.  Each team member equally contributes to their success as a company.  “Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” -Helen Keller.

Corey Harper, Patient Coordinator

Corey started her adult life at 18 with almost six years serving the country in the United States Navy. After getting married and spending almost 14 years as a stay-at-home mother of three, she moved to part-time work overseeing insurance contracts with local physicians’ offices. Soon after came the opportunity to move into a full-time position as a patient coordinator. Understanding local physician offices and the insurance background was a benefit to this position. Corey and Josh have been working together as partners in business for a decade and make a great team.

Leslie Hinton, Patient Coordinator

Leslie Hinton received her Masters in Exercise Science from The University of South Carolina and her Bachelor of Science from Erskine College, where she played college tennis.  After graduating from The University of South Carolina, Leslie worked in the healthcare field as an exercise physiologist in cardiac rehab for several years.

Over the years, Leslie and her husband, Gary have moved several times within North and South Carolina with Gary’s various job promotions. During this time, she pursued a different career path in the legal field as a paralegal.  Leslie worked in the legal field for many years, but knew she eventually wanted to get back to the healthcare field. When the opportunity arose for her to join Raines Physical Therapy and work with Josh and team as patient coordinator, it was an easy decision!

Leslie, Gary and their son, Reid have lived in Aiken, SC for 15 years and consider Aiken their home. Reid attends South Aiken High School and is on the golf team.

Outside of the clinic, Leslie enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to Reid’s golf tournaments, watching college sports, and attending St. John’s Methodist church.

Kaitlin Courtnay, PTA

Kaitlin Courtnay grew up in small-town Saluda, South Carolina playing every sport possible. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Presbyterian College in 2015 as a Biology major and Spanish minor. She attended Midlands Technical College for her Physical Therapist Assistance degree, graduating in 2018 and earning a perfect score on her licensure exam.

Her journey in the physical therapy world began while still in undergrad, working as a Rehab Tech at Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital until becoming a licensed therapist. Josh hired Kaitlin before she even graduated PTA school for a full-time position. She continued working PRN at the inpatient rehab hospital a couple of Saturdays a month. She remained until March of 2021 and then was hired by Josh (again) at Doctor’s Hospital of Augusta for the inpatient rehab floor. She split her time between Greenwood and Augusta over the course of 6 months.

Josh quickly called her for reinforcements upon opening his clinic in September 2021. (Third time is a charm for being hired by the same guy, right?) Kaitlin began part-time and quickly became full-time later in October. “I’m grateful to have another opportunity to work alongside Josh and our growing team. I’m honored that I get to pursue a career where I get to bless others but also get blessed in return.”

In her free time, Kaitlin enjoys working out, baking, being outdoors, and serving in her church’s children’s ministry.
